If you are currently renting a property, you must first get landlord permission that they are happy for the work to go ahead. This also includes that there may be a contribution required dependent on a house survey which would be carried out.

Private landlords:

If you are a landlord looking for a grant for your property, your tenant must meet the eligibility criteria.

First Time Central Heating applicants:

For first time central heating applications, there must be no central heating previously installed to the property. The current method of heating must either be listed as an alternative method (electric heating, oil, wood etc) or as having no heating at all.

What is loft insulation and why should you choose it for your home?

Loft insulation is highly effective at reducing heat loss in your home. Through an uninsulated roof, up to 25% of heat can be lost every-time you turn your heating on. Insulating with rolls of wool material, traps this heat from escaping and essentially creates a blanket for your loft space.

lf your loft is in good condition, i.e. has no damp or condensation problems, and has good access, loft insulation is a possibility. Rolls of insulation will be installed between the horizontal joists which make up the floor of your loft. Another layer of insulation material can then be laid perpendicular on top of this, creating a full barrier to reduce heat loss.

Your loft contains evenly spaced out beams which form the structure of your loft; by filling the space in-between these with insulation, heat loss is greatly reduced improving energy efficiency as well as saving on energy bills.

Installing loft insulation is a quick and simple process with instant benefits. One of our expert installers should be able to install the insulation material fully within just a few hours, or for larger properties up to a day.

The Energy Company Obligation Scheme (ECO)

The main goal of the ECO4 Scheme is to help households who are vulnerable to better heat their home and provide savings on their energy bills. The initiative aims to tackle the millions of households living in Fuel Poverty in the UK by offering services which would ordinarily be expensive to install, as part of a free grant. Cavity Wall Insulation, Loft Insulation or Under Floor insulation are all measures which can provide great benefits to keeping your home warmer, reducing your carbon emissions as well as savings each month on your energy bills.
